Employers' Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) unites 63 branch and regional associations and federations that take a significant place in Latvian economics, as well as 90 enterprises that employ over 50 people. The members of LDDK employ at large 41% of employees in Latvia. LDDK provides changes in education system that foster the improvement of the quality of education and increase of competitiveness, availability of lifelong education for all residents of Latvia, as well as increase of effectiveness of disbursement of financing for education and research. LDDK, in cooperation with Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Latvia, educational establishments and business organizations, increases the availability of highly qualified and competitive labor force to the member organizations.

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is the largest technical university in Baltic states and aims at improving the quality of distance education (DE) services. To accomplish these aims KTU carries out applied DE research, develops virtual learning environments, DE courses, interactive conference systems, etc. KTU is strengthening its position in the educational market in Lithuania and Europe.
The main tasks and activities of different departments, including E-Learning Technology Centre and the Faculty of Informatics is related with Higher Education infrastructure based on modern telecommunication, information and video conference technologies, development of university teachers' and students' competence for digital communication. Staff of E-Learning Technology Centre builds up the internet portals, virtual communities, virtual learning environments and multimedia material for training and learning.

SIA "Biznesa augstskola Turiba" is highly experienced in education, research, project management, and consulting. We provide a possibility for 7000 students to obtain higher education in business administration, tourism, public relations and law according to labour market needs. Turiba publishes study books and other study materials, and carries out research and other projects. Turiba has experience in managing and executing different national research projects, including those founded by Latvian Council of Sciences, international projects from Leonardo da Vinci and INTERREG programmes. HALO - EDIL ING Association of Economic Interest for Entrepreneurship and Tourism Development was established in the year 1999. The company PRODEC Consultores S.L. started activities in 1986, since 1994 the legal form is a Limited Company with shell-structure.Activities are related with rural and SSME development, especially inland / rural tourism. Over 17 years, PRODEC was in charge of the overall coordination and management of the regional provider’s association RAAR-Red Andaluza de Alojamientos Rurales, being envolved in vocational training programming and implementation, design and implementation of Quality Systems, Technical Assistance to Rural Tourism initiatives, and IT applications to RTME with recent concentration on distance and e-learning in rural areas. Several cooperations in EU-projects and on international level in these same fields, with recent activities embracing South and Central America.

Through its functions of mediating and representing the member interests, the Confederation influences economic and labour policy-making inclusive education and training. It represents the interests on a macro level and passes on the proposals worked out by its members. It maintains contacts with the Parliament, the government and state administration and makes every effort to represent the entrepreneurs' interests. It also prepares analyses, expresses opinions and prepares proposals on corporate and the current economic policy concepts.
